Farmstand

Meet the Farmers

Giannina, Bryn, Colin, and pup Fille of Common Roots

Common Roots, local nonprofit that focuses on food equity, food education, and organic farming, leases our South Village Farm to grow acres of nutritious food for purchase at the Farmstand. The Farmstand also features many other products produced by local partners.

Colin O’Brien, who came to Common Roots from a farm at the Intervale, is our full-time farmer. Colin and his team of assistants, volunteers and interns work on the farm to provide food for Common Roots, Common Roots events, the Food Shelf, and our farmstand. Next time you’re at the farm, say hello to Colin, assistant farmers Giannina and Bryn, and Colin’s pup, Fi!

Common Roots connects the residents of South Burlington:  families, students, farmers, business owners, teachers, and civic leaders to a sustainable local food system that supports healthy nutrition choices, learning opportunities, and food equity in our community.

Common Roots’ vision:

  • Working in close collaboration with residents, businesses, and civic agencies
  • Together we can make it better!
